Warnemuende & Region
Wonderful white sand beaches are ideal for walking, sunbathing and relaxing. The first holiday visitors came here in 1817, the first wicker beach chair was invented here. Warnemünde beach remains extremely popular today and the water quality of the Baltic Sea is very high in spite of the many bathers. Anyone holidaying here can experience all the seas moods, from calm water through slightly rough seas to foaming surf.
But Warnemünde doesn’t just offer white sand, clean water, laughing gulls and the salt tang of the sea. Typical of the resort are little houses, narrow and winding streets, exquisite boutiques, alternating with cafés, bars and restaurants. The Alter Strom is just the place for a stroll, while bathers, holidaymakers and locals throng on the promenade. From the lighthouse you can let your gaze wander over Warnemünde or watch the ferries and freighters sailing out of port.
